Kyle has been a consultant for multiple state government unemployment divisions, designing and implementing automated correspondence systems. He has also served as a Linux systems administrator for the unemployment production systems of two states, handling deployments, system monitoring, troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
During Kyle's time as a consultant, he led his team in requirements gathering, design, and implementation of a new correspondence automation system to replace existing mainframe infrastructure, and provided training to multiple client teams to maintain and administer the solution.
As a systems administrator, Kyle has experience with clustered hypervisors (Proxmox), Storage systems configuration and management (ZFS, LVM), database administration, and configuration automation utilizing Ansible. He is familiar with log monitoring, deployment of containers and VMs, and hardware troubleshooting.
Network administration has been a core component of his history, including installation and configuration of firewalls, switches, and physical fiber and wiring. He is familiar with Cisco, Arista, Ruckus, and Dell console configuration.

Wrote hundreds of flows using Oracle Policy Automation, allowing for automated fact-finding for unemployment determinations.

Experienced in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of servers and linux hypervisors (Proxmox Hypervisor and QEMU). Has configured Proxmox high availability clusters, and familiar with linux bridges and OpenVSwitch.
Has previously worked with Debian, Redhat, NixOS, and other distributions, and is comfortable maintaining and administering containers (Podman/Docker), VMs (using QEMU), and bare metal installations. Orchestrated configuration management using Ansible playbooks and roles, and scripting with Bash.
Familiar with server hardware maintenance and troubleshooting, including Dell and Supermicro rack systems. Comfortable with server rack wiring and routing. Experienced with patch panel termination and in wall wiring.
Competent in setting up and administering networking infrastructure, including distribution and access switches, and firewall rules. Familiar with Cisco iOS, Arista EOS, Ruckus/Commscope, and Dell DNOS Switch management. Has installed and configured PFsense and VyOS firewalls/routers.
